Sojourn Balance Changes

Sojourn has been strong since release and has usually stayed in S tier. The charge shot in particular bursts health down very fast, so landing it should take more skill.

Balance Philosophy

For each hero in S and A tier, slightly nerf each part of the kit. The author notes these are not all meant to be implemented, and invites feedback on which should take priority.

Proposed Changes

Each entry lists the move or ability affected, the adjustment itself, and — where the analysis states one — the problem it is meant to solve and the reasoning behind it.

  1. Railgun (charged shot)

    Nerf
    Proposed adjustment
A .25 second wind up when the button is pressed. This wind up is not applied during her ultimate.
    Current issue
The charge shot is excellent at bursting down health and travels very fast, on top of the damage her primary fire already does.
    Reason
Puts more of the 180 nuke headshot on the player's skill.
  2. Disruptor Shot

    Nerf
    Proposed adjustment
Radius reduced to 3 meters and cooldown increased to 18 seconds.
    Current issue
It can block out escape routes.
  3. Power Slide

    Nerf
    Proposed adjustment
Cooldown increased to 10 seconds and movement speed set to 14 m/s.
    Current issue
It is a strong speed tool for getting in and out of fights.
  4. Overclock

    Nerf
    Proposed adjustment
Ultimate cost increased to 2450 charge.
