King Dedede Balance Changes

Balance Philosophy

Buff a handful of moves that currently do little for the character's kit so they have more options in combat, and improve several recoveries so low tiers are not losing stocks as cheaply. Not every suggestion needs to be implemented.

Proposed Changes

Each entry lists the move or ability affected, the adjustment itself, and — where the analysis states one — the problem it is meant to solve and the reasoning behind it.

1. Dash attack

   Buff

   Proposed adjustment

   Start up reduced to 20 frames.

2. Forward smash

   Buff

   Proposed adjustment

   Start up becomes 32 frames.

3. Down special

   Buff

   Proposed adjustment

   Gordo Throw can be cancelled with shield and has armor during its start up.

4. Down air

   Buff

   Proposed adjustment

   Start up reduced to 18 frames.
